Getting copies of your “health records and information” from NSW doctors 5

One of our readers claims to have had this experience a number of years ago in relation to this subject.

They had been using a medical centre, which we’ll call Medical Centre XXX, that was taken over by Primary Health Care Limited and merged with the Primary’s Parramatta Central Medical Centre. But the health records and information of Medical Centre XXX’s patients weren’t transferred over – they just disappeared, no doubt because transferring them over would have cost Primary “a few bob.”

So not only could Medical Centre XXX’s patients not get access to their health records and information,  Medical Centre XXX’s doctors couldn’t get access to their patients’ records for any assistance they might provide in treating their patients properly – they just had to start again, putting together health records and information on their patients.

All sorts of people in authority and so on were written to about this, but no one showed the slightest interest or concern!

Typical Primary Health Care Limited stuff?
